My name is Antoinette Lee. I'm a native Washingtonian. Though I started A Special Lee Sewing & Craft Cafe in early 2017, I have been teaching sewing for over two decades. In fact, sewing for me has been a 40-year journey.
My Mom bought me a Kenmore sewing machine as a child, which traveled with me to Oberlin College, where I earned my bachelor's degree in sociology and urban studies. Sewing continued after college, when I moved into a one bedroom apartment and made my wedding gown and many other garments. I eventually taught sewing at G Street Fabrics, Bits of Thread, and at other stores before deciding to start my own business out of my home.
I have a passion for teaching sewing, crafting, quilting, machine embroidering, home decorating, and bookmaking.
At A Special Lee Sewing & Craft Cafe, I am focused on providing my services with the highest levels of customer satisfaction, and I will do everything I can to exceed your expectations. I hope you will allow me to teach you or your child the wealth of knowledge that I have been blessed to acquire through the years! With a variety of course offerings to choose from, as well as both group and private lessons, I'm sure you'll find the right class for you as you embark on your own sewing journey.
